The Program is Accountable

From the beginning our program has sought to be transparent! We are a grassroots organization comprised of “neighbors helping neighbors.” Our work is regularly reviewed by a number of organizations. We follow the “Guiding Principles” of Elderberry Institute, a resource center for Living At Home/Block Nurse Programs in Minnesota.  Click on this link for information http://www.elderberry.org/

We are listed with Minnesotahelp.info (http://www.minnesotahelp.info/) which is the Senior Linkage service in Minnesota. We are also listed with “Community Solutions” at the United Way of Central Minnesota.

Our work is regularly reviewed by Stearns County since we have a contract with them to provide home and community-based services, by the State of Minnesota since we are a recipient of funding through a Community Services/Service Development grant, and by the Federal government through the Central Minnesota Council On Aging (www.cmcoa.org) who administer the Older Americans Act Title III funding.

We have also received funding from a number of private and corporate groups, like the Otto Bremer Foundation. We are currently receiving funding from PreventionMinnesota© to further our health promotion activities. Our financial information and IRS 990 form are available for your review at http://www.guidestar.org.

This year we were very pleased to be recognized by the Charities Review Council of Minnesota. We are listed at their web site at http://www.smartgivers.org/.  Their statement read: “Your commitment to accountability as an area of best practice for your organization was like music to our ears. We really appreciate the work you did to meet the standards. It speaks well of your organization's dedication to the people that you serve that you would take the time to address accountability issues.”
